Tiltridge Vineyard lies in the Severn Valley between the Malvern Hills & the attractive riverside town of Upton upon Severn, at an altitude of about 35m above sea level.  Three varieties of vine are currently in production - Schönburger, Huxelrebe & Seyval Blanc - while a fourth variety, Phoenix, will be cropping shortly.  England lies on the northern limits of vine production & the wines we produce here at Tiltridge are clean, crisp & fruity - typical of the English style.  Our two small vineyards of 0.5 acre & 1 acre are grown on the double guyot system where the vines are pruned back to two replacement canes each winter.  On average, we produce about 3,000 bottles each year, but there are large seasonal variations as the harvest is very dependent on the weather conditions each spring & summer brings.

We market our wines under the name of Elgar & his music as we wanted a label which would place us firmly in Worcestershire.  He was born at Lower Broadheath, just outside Worcester & spent much of his life in & around this area.  Many of the images we use on the labels were researched & provided by the  Elgar Birthplace Museum to whom we are indebted for their help & co-operation.

Mastercard & Visa accepted so that we can supply wine by MAIL ORDER. Please ring for details.

Elegant, light and refreshing, it’s full of flavour and just the drink to share with friends on a lazy sunny afternoon.

Enigma 2005 (Medium Sweet) [½bottle (37.5cl)] £4.95

Highly Commended – South West Vineyards Association Competition 2007
Made from our Huxelrebe grapes, this wine has good balance between sweetness and acidity.  Best served really cold in small glasses.
